Symptoms of Lyme Infection may include:
- Flu-like symptoms such as fever, chills, fatigue, headaches, muscle aches;
- Erythema migrans rash that develops from the point of being bitten. It appears between 3-30 days after being bitten by a tick.
- Neurological symptoms such as meningitis (sensitivity to light, neck stiffness, severe headaches), or issues with muscle movement or facial droop - these may occur in the later stages on the infection.
It is recommended that you take this test if you present any of the symptoms listed or if:
- You live in a place that is rich in vegetation, or a woodland area;
- You live in Northern America or Northern Europe;
- You go hiking or camping on a regular basis;
- You come into contact with larger woodland animals on a regular basis.
If you develop the erythema migrans rash, or any neurological symptoms, you should contact your doctor immediately.
It can take 2 to 6 weeks after a tick bite for the Lyme Infection test to identify antibodies in your blood. If you are concerned you might be infected you should test or retest 6 weeks after the bite.
Further testing to confirm the diagnosis may be required.
You must fast before taking this test, meaning you must take it in the morning before having breakfast. You can still drink water whilst fasting. Please follow the advice of your doctor regarding fasting, especially if you have any medical conditions.

Register your sample online using your reference number and your surname. You will need to enter your barcode number, located on the cassette (LFT) or tube (PCR).
Return your test free of charge using our pre-paid envelope. We’ll email you when we get it (For PCR Tests). Please do not send us your Lateral Flow test back, the picture at registration is enough.
You will receive your confidential results via email in the adequate time frame.
